My name is AhGary, and I am the main keeper of the leopard geckos in our house. My girl, Ada N. is also helping me out in the family. We all love reptiles.
Like most reptile enthusiasts, my fascination with reptiles began at a young age. My parents remind me often of how I talked non-stop about dinosaurs through out most of my toddler and elementary years. During these early years, I collected what I could from my little corner in my room. I remember little hamster to be my favorite. In my teen years I was finally able to start purchasing and keeping captive bred reptiles. I found this to be an extremely enjoyable and fulfilling experience. The process of learning the captive care needs of a specific species, setting up the proper environment and watching them flourish quickly became something I knew I would enjoy forever.
I'm really enjoying a smaller collection for several reasons. First of all, I'm able to give each and every gecko the proper care and attention they deserve. Second, I'm able to spend more time focusing on which geckos I breed in order to advance our "line-bred" projects as effectively as possible. And finally, I'm able to spend more time updating our site and corresponding with other hobbyists. In the past, I've found myself so immersed in simply feeding and cleaning my collection that I couldn't even stop to enjoy it! A smaller collection simply works better for me right now. As far as the future of the AhGary's Gecko....we will continue to work as hard as we can to produce the most colorful, healthy geckos possible. We should always have some unique projects we're working on, and hopefully we'll be able to hatch cutting-edge geckos each season. We'll do the best we can to keep the gecko community informed on our progress and provide the best customer service we can.
